Discussion:
Competitive Analysis:
Amy – Less words, need more visuals, charts into the PP deck. More we do now to build deck, less we will have to do in December. PP is what you are giving to investors. Linking to PP is okay (click here language).
Jeremy – We have a deck (Jeremy shows Amy deck), suggested outbound clicks to PP and Amy is okay with this approach.
Holly – Suggested an infographic then click to more info and Amy was good with this as well.
Becca – Site is well organized. Series of question regarding why we chose the competitors that we did.
Alyssa – Explains some of the reasons: Top apps in this space, Off Broadway app was being developed but did not work, etc.
Becca – Continued questions: Why did it not work? What happened with the app? Why are they not working? Need more details on strengths and weaknesses on B2B side.
Alyssa – Off Broadway (Staffing issues, resources, financial, talent, never launched). Incomplete offerings, not great listings, ticket selling channels, on-the-go companies, steep discounts, (b2b – drop-downs, choices, user experience).
Conclusion:
- Competitive analysis is used to create a value proposition, details about product or service that differentiates us from what is on the market. It helps explain our position in the market, key features of product or service (users experience, deep discounts, filters, etc. and some of the things we mentioned on the call). She would like to see these details in our analysis.
- The details should roll up into two key insights for B2C and B2B (key insights may be 2 sentences long for each).
Shift in Project Scope:
Jeremy – Explaining the B2C focus as opposed to our original idea which was more B2B. Is this a good shift toward innovation?
Amy – What is the buy in? If people do need more options and theaters need a different channel, then the market is underserved but we need to prove it.
Becca – Change was smart but we need to figure out the core problem on why it is working in some areas and not others. The real innovation is differentiation and that it solves the problem other apps have not been able to solve.
Jerry – Culture is dying faster. Social aspect is to adhere to the new generations needs of communication. Outdated Does a mission statement around recreating the social culture aspect of theater going work?
Becca – We need to define our problem. How are you going to make an app work in this space? Key for innovation is solving a problem that others have not been able to solve.
Amy – Agrees.
Conclusion:
- We need to do a better job with defining the problem and solution.
To Do:
- Discuss about adding visuals and building them out on the website. We are on the right track. Expand on the digital presence of the product or solution. Add more visuals and content and send it over and they (Amy & Becca) will offer more feedback.
- Project plan (need access to team site, i.e. Teams). – Holly completed
