Labor Day weekend this year felt different, almost weird on my timeline. With Philadelphia students returning back to school a week earlier than usual, I didn’t feel or see the same excitement that I’ve seen in previous years. Here are some of the posts and tweets that I discovered:

Facebook and Twitter
Which brand published the content:
Both posts were a collaboration of several brands – Live Nation, Made in America, Meek Mill and Tidal music streaming service.
Would you share it and why?
I didn’t share either of the posts, but I did engage with the Facebook post by reacting to the photo gallery with a heart. One of my favorite features on Facebook is the ability to react to posts, rather than just liking them. I didn’t share the posts because it was almost too relevant for my timeline. Most people I know either attended the festival or not interested in attending.
What value is it to the business?
They combined their audiences to increase visibility of the festival and artists, as well as promote the streaming service to potential subscribers. Each post inspired people who came across them to learn more about the festival or subscribe to the streaming service. They also added value to the Made in America brand by including influencers, such as Meek Mill, to promote the festival.

Which brand published the content:
Fix Credit USA and Nerd Wallet
Would you share it and why?
I didn’t share the tweet because it was a sponsored ad that came across my feed. The headline and content were interesting to me, but I didn’t feel like it was relevant to my followers or my page.
What value is it to the business?
It is an educational tweet, but also inspiring to followers with financial issues or goals that are interested in travel. Labor Day weekend is a popular time for travel as many consider it to be the last weekend of the summer. Both brands are relevant to their target audience and the tweet shows potential consumers that they are thought leaders in the credit and travel industries.
On which social media platform you discovered the content piece:
Which brand published the content:
Victoria’s Secret PINK
Would you share it and why?
No, I would not share it because it didn’t engage me enough and was not relevant to me. While I like the brand, I didn’t feel like it was necessary for me to support or share it at that time.
What value is it to the business?
I think Victoria’s Secret PINK did a great job at bringing subtle awareness of its back-to-school merchandise to followers with use of the word “campus,” as well as the positioning and location of the photo. I think it added value to the business by being relevant and committed to its target audience.
