Media: Everybody’s Hometown, ready to welcome everybody back
Media Borough is the County Seat of Delaware County, PA. With weekday activity at the County Court House, Media brings in over 300,000 visitors and employees during normal business hours, and in the evenings and on weekends, it provides plenty of opportunities for fun for all ages.
The downtown area is home to a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and boutiques, as well as many offices and salons. Media boasts an award-winning Theatre, and various locations throughout town provide venues for live music. Media hosts a number of cultural and music festivals, as well as holiday parades and an annual Five Mile Race.
Media has long been strengthened by the diversity and sense of inclusiveness among the population – “Everybody’s Hometown” is more than just a slogan, but a mindset and a way of being. It’s a wonderfully walkable town, making it a great place to work, to play, to live.
Along came COVID, and put much of Media’s packed calendar of events on hiatus. Activity at the County Court House went virtual, and the daytime visitor numbers plummeted. One of the only events that continued during the first year of the pandemic was Dining Under the Stars – a weekly outdoor dining experience that allowed for some feeling of safety – but it was still much smaller than it had been in years prior. All other festivals were cancelled, the theatre was dark.
As the pandemic wore on, businesses began to return to a modicum of normalcy. Yet, most large gatherings have not yet returned. We know that they will, and Media is anxious to bring back all those visitors, safely. While they’ve been away, the memory of Media’s fabulous fun times may have faded. Also during 2020-2021, many newcomers to the region aren’t familiar with all that Media has to offer.
Hometown Digital is poised to help Media get its groove back, ensuring that its magic remains in the hearts and minds of people throughout the region and beyond, welcoming them with open arms.
