Obesity has continued to climb in the past decade, and it is only getting worse. Smart watches are just the beginning of a solution to the obesity issue in the world.
Smart watches can range from the Apple watch to Fitbit. These watches make it easy to calorie count, select workouts and most importantly motivate you. The best part about smart watches is they are going to continue to get better and better with more features. Fitbit are made particularly for fitness. The company recently release the Versa 3 that has some phenomenal features such as goal-based fitness apps, reminders to move and food planning tips.
But even with this great technology people will still find an excuse not to stay healthy. A large issue is that people do not want to drive to the gym after work and workout in front of other people. Well Peloton is here to help with that issue. Peloton is a company that makes at-home gym equipment, an exercise app and they also produce live-stream workout videos for customers. Peloton made a home workout that is easy to use, and also fun to do! The workouts are great because they keep you on track and keep you from not knowing what to do.
Another great example of technology within the fitness industry it the FitTrack scale. It is a smart scale that once you set on it, it will tell you different body metrics. Now how does this work? “When standing on the FitTrack scale, a very low, safe electrical signal is sent from four metal electrodes through your feet. The electrical signal passes quickly through water that is present in hydrated muscle tissue but meets resistance when it hits fat tissue. This resistance is measured and input into a scientifically validated FitTrack equations to calculate body composition measurement.” Sounds so hi-tech!
Technology and digital innovation in fitness technology has come a long way in the past decade and it will continue to improve. This technology is helping to get more people motivated and ready to improve their lifestyle. Personally, some of the fitness technology I talked about above have greatly impacted my fitness. They help me to understand my body and motivate me to workout and eat healthy.
