While at Bradley University I was a Resident Advisor. I was responsible for ensuring the safety of about 50 students for two years. I also helped them manage the administrative process of Bradley when they where running into issues. This was a great job to start teaching me how to be a mentor to younger students, and sometimes peers.
After graduating Bradley, with a Marketing degree, I worked for OfficeMax doing corporate sales. This job was a great first experience into the business world. However, I realized that there so something I was missing in my life. So I decided to join the military. Sadly I quite OfficeMax before realizing there was a long wait to get to basic training.
That is why I bounced around a few odd jobs (movie theater, data entry, and retail sales) until I was able to actually get into the Army. I meet a lot of great people and learned a lot of things about working on the ground level of organizations.
Most of my work experience has been in the form of management. As an Army officer, I have been responsible for training and mentoring over 200 Soldiers. This has been a very rewarding experience to see young Solders develop ways to improve themselves. I have also been responsible for managing marketing budgets of over $10 million, across several different international projects.
