I have continuously been working on our agency’s social media process for nearly five years. I thought this was absurd when i first thought about it, but now, I’m proud that I haven’t left it stagnant; that I’ve done a yearly decompress and optimize activity, even though I didn’t know that’s what I should call it! I have finally gotten the process to a pretty good place, but I know there will always been problems to address. This inspired me to complete a RACI chart for our process, analyzing where we could find some further efficiencies.
The one place that needs some work is the content execution function. Depending on the client, I could be responsible for the execution or account management. There is a problem with this function right now because we are utilizing account management in a function that should really belong to a Social Media Manager. However, due to budget restraints and billable hours, I am unable to hire this position. Thus, it falls into a department that is not a specialist in this area. (Since my frustration here).
