This is a sample clip of what the introduction to our first episode (or Jawn) might sound like:
We want to set the tone off the bat, do some world-building and turn it into the hook of the show, an […]

It’s not something that’s going to stop me from using Twitter, to be honest. They have a TON of work to do to make things right, and I don’t think they have the fortitude or inclination to do that work – hiding behind free speech instead of developing policies to keep malicious elements at the very least quarantined.
The checkmark thing is kind…[Read more]

The next chapter in Twitter’s continuing struggle for an identity in a crowded social media landscape appears to be the addition of a 24/7 news network, courtesy of Bloomberg and some big-money partners.

Sounds pretty cool to me. I played Pokey Man GO feverishly early on, then leveled off and quit. I know some folks who are still VERY MUCH into it. I think Niantic has probably learned quite a bit from GO, so I’m interested to check it out and see if they’ve built some of that knowledge into the game to keep people hooked longer. My son is on book…[Read more]

A ratings system of some kind/more parental parameters is a fantastic idea, Lauren! We all know it’s not realistic that we’ll see EVERYTHING our kids see. But, at least there might be some line of defense between our kids and this kind of junk.

Thanks, Taryn. My jaw dropped a few times reading the article, so I had to share it. It makes perfect sense that folks out there will want to game the system in place to make money. But the awful video that come out of it can probably be pretty traumatic to a kid. Parental monitoring is important, but it’s not realistic that we’ll always see…[Read more]

A bit of a long-read, but please don’t let that chase you away from at least skimming James Bridle’s Something is wrong on the internet, posted on Medium.com this week.
Here’s a TL;DR excerpt…

I’m cool with motion controls and all that kind of stuff – to an extent. But yeah, mostly I just want a controller in my hand and a couch under me!

You know, I SHOULD be part of that group. I think I was at some point. In my older, slower, more Nintendo-focused years, I’ve removed myself from the new tech/graphics horsepower arms race going on between Microsoft and Sony. I watch it from afar. But it’s like you said – the price tag is high, and they only seem to be getting higher. I’m more…[Read more]

Constant updates always make it feel like the product is improving and expanding. We’re used to them now, but updates used to be a BIG, MASSIVE DEAL. These days, it seems weird not to have an “iterative” device or piece of software.
