Congratulations Torri! Wishing you all the best in your new role! Your 30 day game plan sounds like an excellent approach. It’s great to see that your boss responded so positively too, what a nice way to start!

Great post. Clearly Cleveland is a hot-spot right now for rentals and flips. I read a WSJ article about your market a few weeks ago that I thought you might enjoy:

Great movie choice that explores decomposition and testing process improvement techniques (agile iteration), plus I think it’s good entertainment too. McDonald’s continues to iterate in reaction to covid-19. They prepared a 59-page guide for reopening: https://www.wsj.com/articles/mcdonalds-sets-conditions-for-restaurant-reopenings-11589466556

Nuro is a great find and would make an excellent addition to the case! What would the current process flow diagram look like with the introduction of Nuro?

Finally, IBM is another one that caught my eye, due to our recent Watson case study! This article describes how CSR and environmental stewardship has been part of the company’s mission since the 1960s, with its first sustainability report being published in 1990. Its data centers have received awards from the European Commission for their l…[Read more]

For example, it explains that IKEA has incorporated sustainability throughout its entire business operations; starting with its supply chain, where it sources close to 50% of its wood from sustainable foresters and 100% of its cotton from farms that meet the Better Cotton standards. It also has more than 700,000 solar panels powering its stores…[Read more]

Hi Amanda! Great post. I’m not a coffee drinker and I don’t like donuts, so I wasn’t up-to-date on some of the initiatives, like Dunkin’ working to eliminate the use of Styrofoam cups. I read the article you listed and then did some of my own research to see which companies are working towards or are current…[Read more]

Great example of an infinite loop as an employee journey map. What was the response to your presentation?

This is a great way to communicate the value associated with RACI Charts. It is a shame that the fellowship didn’t document their responsibilities accordingly. Sam would have had a nice collaboratively created tool to remind Frodo that Gollum/Smeagol was not a stakeholder/team member and has no role with their task..

Disney’s Magic Band certainly enhances the customer experience and is a great example of using RFID technology. This is a great follow-up to our conversation about Amazon Go and process integration. How many of the parks processes do think were impacted by the bands? Here’s another article that you might enjoy:…[Read more]
