Excellent points Josh. I was musing on these very issues myself. The tricky thing here is finding the savvy project manager, because, as we know, people’s skill sets run the gamut.

This new world of collaboration is still very much an experiment and we are the guinea pigs. You are not alone.

I wrote more in detail about this in my e-portfolio post, but the key point I wanted to share with the class from the readings is, “Not everyone is like you.” When designing and doing usability t […]

Both your ePortfolio Post and this post are very well written and bring up a point that is often forgotten in many areas of design whether it is digital or physical. People are very unique in many ways and not everyone is the same – sometimes design needs to factor alternative models to help those who may need additional “help.” Not only does the user interface have to account for these situations, but users in need must be able to quickly and efficiently access these modes when needed. A good example are the bevy of options included by Apple on the already simple iPhone – although it takes 3 taps to access the accessibility menu, the user can fine tune controls as needed and the phone begins to adapt – for example triple clicking the home button to invert colors throughout the OS.

I guess the biggest question I have is, “Is Best Friends Petcare a Disney property?” Does Disney own your company? or does it contract with you to provide Pet Care for their guests? Are you the only choice for Pet Care at the Park? From the website, it seems that if Disney decided, they could evict you and replace you with another Pet Care…[Read more]

Thanks for posting this. It mirrors some of my own thoughts on this issue. What about is it about the iPhone that keeps its users face down? I am not suggesting a sinister plot perpetrated on its user base by Apple, however, having such a tight control over the App Store and its offerings may allow some influence in how iPhone apps are…[Read more]
