Hi Sara,
This was a great post and actually speaks to the current dilemma I’m facing in the current state of today’s world. I used to be an avid gym-goer and would try to work out at my local gym 3-5 times a week. I’ve been trying to work out at home, but just don’t have the same type of motivation. I work from home a few days a week and find it…[Read more] -

Artificial Intelligence is a phenomenon that has been integrated into our daily lives, sometimes in ways that we don’t even think about, such as autocorrect and using face recognition to unlock our phone […]

Using AI for legal court cases is a brilliant idea. I tend to listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and have found a lot of cold cases struggle due to the fact there is just too many cases and too much information to anaylze. When using AI, I think it’s important to acknowledge that an AI can only do as much as it’s programmed to do- so it shouldn’t be the end-all solution. I personally don’t think we should ever wholly rely on AI to do entire jobs for us, and that it should always be monitored with a human mind. That being said, when it comes to processing of documents or organization, AI is useful for its perfectly coded automation- which can speed up the process that is so dearly needed for the number of court cases that go through everyday. I don’t think we could ever have an AI defend as a legal attorney, but working as an assistant? That’s super cool!

Hi Samara,
Nice thought provoking article! The usage of technology is growing, in basically all facets of business. Lawyering should honestly be no different. I think the benefits of AI could positively effect those with smaller questions and who are in need of help, and rather than pay a lawyer’s retention fees, be able to have problems or questions solved a lot easier through this kind of technology. I could honestly see the work of a paralegal possibly becoming smaller with the usage of AI, but hopefully the technology will be more on the consumer side, and be needed by those needing lawyers more. Obviously, the intellect and understanding of a human is hard to mimic, but we may get to a point where low level and easier questions could be solved or at least helped out with by AI.

Hey Samara! This is a really cool technology that is still not getting enough buzz, probably from the fact that it is encroaching on human like behaviors. I believe that this many be a troublesome path to follow partially because AI that is taking learned behaviors from each encounter is not fully developed and all-knowing from what is programmed into the system. Law is also extremely tricky and a though provoking career. Many lawyers are paid more as they gain experience or specialize in specific cases. If these robots were to take the wrong direction, causing a wrong judgement (such as the bad guy getting away with it), does double jeopardy still apply? I have more concerns with the training and knowledge that could take the humanization out of the law practice.

Hey everyone! Excited to be a part of the social media group, since social media is such an essential part of our daily lives. I don’t work directly in social media, but I do help write ad copy for social media in my current position. I know things can sometimes use another set of eyes, so I’m always down to bounce ideas off each other here!

Hey Henry! It’s great to have class with a fellow Lower Merion native. Considering how popular sports were throughout high school, I’m not surprised that they’re still a big part of your life. I also appreciate the fact that you’re interested in art museums–have you gotten the chance to see the “New Grit” exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of…[Read more]

Hi Samara,
Personally, I love scrolling through TikTok for hours while I lay in bed. From a business perspective, I haven’t found much use for it at my company since our customer base doesn’t really fit the apps user-base. However, I definitely am one of those skeptics who converted to an avid supporter. I think there is value in developing a strategy for a company who’s target demographic falls within the user demographic. Like you said, it is extremely important that your strategy aligns with TiKTok trends, much more so then any other social platform. The most successful TikTokers took to the time to understand and master the algorithm for the maximum amount of views… just ask Josh Richards and see where his success on TikTok has led him.
Samara,
Wow, I love this post. I am obsessed with TikTok and use it just about everyday. It is a way for me to learn cool ideas on how to cook, or decorate my room, or even learn a cool dance move to I can be “cool” with my little cousins. I was very disturbed when they said they were going to ban it during the shut down because it was a way for so many people to connect and it passed the time well. Like you said, I don’t think TikTok is any different then Instagram or Facebook in the way it takes your information. I think it is better. It might sound stupid but I have actually learned so much from watching Tiktok. My company does not use tiktok because we are a pharmaceutical company that deals with a lot of older people, but if I ever work at a company that needs for audience, I would totally recommend this app.
Great post!
Abby
