Hi Chelle,
Thank you for bringing this up! I always find myself stressed out from too much screen time…and then watch three hours of Netflix to “unwind” and spend even more time in front of a screen. I’ve tried meditation on and off, but haven’t been able to get into the habit of doing it regularly. It’s hard to resist the urge to constantly…[Read more]

Hey Brianna,
This is such a fascinating find! As someone that loves the experience of live music, I love this idea. The vibrations of music can definitely have an uplifting effect on people, but I would have never thought to turn it into a wearable clothing item. I could see these shirts being used in a variety of settings from being studied in…[Read more]

Hi Kate,
We discussed this during our group project, and I love this idea so much! There’s a new community fridge that they just put in my neighborhood and I haven’t seen anyone use it (either to donate or take food). My roommates and I actually had some extra food a few weeks ago and decided to check it out. The fridge had been basically…[Read more]

Hi Brianna,
This is such a hot button issue at the moment and has been gaining traction on social media. Last week, I saw so many of my followers post graphics depicting how the U.S. is the only country that doesn’t offer parental leave. Other countries offer this benefit to both parents with the promise of returning to their previous job…[Read more]

Hi Megan,
This is so interesting! I had no idea something like this existed, but I think it makes a lot of sense and would appeal to a lot of consumers. You mentioned how COVID-19 has changed customer shopping habits, and the rise in popularity of this particular type of technology is the perfect example of it. I would much rather have my face…[Read more]

Samara,
Loved reading your post about QR codes. Now that you mention it, I can’t recall using QR codes prior to the pandemic, at least not as religiously as I do now in restaurants. Personally, I am a huge fan of QR codes. I’ve been on both ends of using them, as a customer and as a worker at a restaurant. Although I am a huge fan of QR codes and having the menu on my phone, I can see how they take away from a dining experience and can be distracting, but I still prefer them over a paper menu. I would like to think QR codes are here to stay, but I guess only time will tell!Have a great weekend! Hope you enjoyed spending time with your family!

Hi Samara,
Interesting article! I used to see QR codes all of the time all over the city of Philadelphia in all different types of ways. I used to see them in sports arenas, within the walls of spray paint to link to artists social media pages, and even in print advertising. However, because of the pandemic, I have seen and huge uptick in usage of QR codes and feel as if more tech savvy generations do not mind them as much. I could see many different businesses trying to use them to cut back on paper usage in areas such as menus. I for one do not mind using them but it does become a bother to me when I do not have an internet connection which happens more often than one might think! As we enter an area of going back into the workplace and restaurants, I am interested to see if QR codes will survive beyond the pandemic in the restaurant world! -
Great Post Samara,
I find QR codes convenient for the most part till I have to make modifications to my order. Being a vegetarian it’s hard enough if i find something decent on the menu but it’s whole another thing when I cant ask questions and make requests. The first time I used a bar code to order my food was at a True food Kitchen and couple of years back. You look at the menu, place the order all using the barcode. Initially, they didn’t have options for special instructions or modifications but they included those features when they re-opened during the pandemic. Like Brianna mentioned I think it can be a great way towards eliminating paper/and plastic waste. I think the QR codes are definitely here to say they just seem to make the ordering process much faster. I also feel like even though we are able to look and order using the QR code the human factor should still remain a factor for a better dining experience.

Hi Arpana,
This was a great read! You raise some valid questions about telehealth and patient confidentiality concerns. I personally have used telehealth during the height of the pandemic, and have continued to for convenience reasons. Right now, I work remotely 3x a week, and therefore can hop on to a quick telehealth appointment during my lunch…[Read more] -
