I never realized either going through a cycle of how I purchased things could be mapped out. Social media is helping business so much interact with their customers. Comcast has their own digital care department where they can help customers trouble shoot their products via Facebook or Twitter. All this was because they mapped out customers calls…[Read more]

Too be honest I didn’t realize so many people hated the star system! Looking it more deeply, I never really took the star system seriously. If I saw a movie already and I thought it was terrible, but saw that it had 4 stars, I just assumed that viewers had either terrible taste or the movie had a cult following. The thumbs up will make it easier…[Read more]

Coming from someone who uses gifs quite a bit in group chats with his friends, I never looked at gifs as being part of a brand association or collecting any type of data. People find them a lot of fun to use, so I can definitely see companies creating them and using them to help their brand.

This was actually pretty awesome to learn! Coke seems to be always finding new ways to connect to their customers. The selfie bottle was a genius idea. With it automatically sharing it to their Facebook page, they let the customers do the promoting for them.

I think Coke has always done a pretty good job in trying to relate to customers and trying to get them talking. With so many different options for social media platforms, I think the brand tried to be careful on what they do next, which is definitely important!

Interesting approach for Coke. I think this has the potential to work out well for them as long as they advertise it enough to get their message out. Maybe I haven’t seen this yet because I am not their intended target and I don’t watch any games every let alone during March Madness. They did this a while ago and it was only online, I remember trying it and feel like it was way more of a hassle than it was worth. If they make it easy and hassle free this could work really well. Otherwise I don’t think a lot of people want to be bothered if its time consuming.

This is a great article! It’s hard to say if Facebook will ahem success as a distributor for original content. It does make sense in a lot of ways to take it this direction, because any big show that comes on users are making a status of it. Whether its a season premier, or someone discovering a new show for the first time, most users will turn to…[Read more]

I defiantly have mix emotions about this article. At one point, I do believe when a job offers more education or training, this leads to people sticking around and enjoying their job. I was in a position last year where I was miserable at my job. I had terrible managers, I wasn’t doing well selling, and over all just wanted to quit. It wasn’t…[Read more]

Always-on, anywhere you want to watch it. Every platform delivers a satisfying, thought-out experience. That’s the dream, right? They certainly have no shortage of material or talking heads to make it happen if they give an (ahem) full-court press.

I am definitely excited to see what new content ESPN develops. They’ve already showed their ability to be humorous and engaging with their “This is Sports Center” campaign so I have now doubt the new digital focus will be entertaining. With the second screen becoming an increasingly important part of the sports viewing experience, a renewed focus on digital is a logical step for ESPN. I also wonder if they can leverage digital access to niche audiences to provide coverage to a wider range of sports, like Rugby for example, that are popular globally but not as much in the United States.

As a fan of Taco Bell, I have to say I’m not as crazy when it comes to posting it on social media like others do. Some users will get so hardcore over their visits and trying different products out. The whole original content video is pretty neat, but I have to agree getting a video of a horse eating a taco wouldn’t interest me, but users love…[Read more]

I can defiantly see this taking off with other companies in the future. I unfortunately didn’t see this shared at all in my social media circle, but I can imagine this will be huge for companies down the road for that want to have customer interact more. This will definitely be become more common, especially if there is an easy to do program for…[Read more]
