Hi Aksana! Great Post!
I agree with your comment that we have to take responsibility for making sure we know how and where our data is being used, but somehow it feels like taking ownership is in direct conflict with the mobile optimized experience, right?
For example, the pop-ups we now get when we land on a site anywhere “Please…[Read more]

James! Omgoodness! Firstly, Great post! and Secondly, I’m so sorry you had to go through that experience!
Because I started out as a singer/songwriter before deciding to settle down and start a family. My social media platforms were full of my musical experiences, on the road, off the road etc. When I decided to go back to a normal life and get…[Read more]

Michelle, this is an excellent read! I have to be honest, when I first saw a commercial for children’s banking cards, I instinctively rolled my eyes. “Smartphone exposure, and now this” – immediately came to my mind. But then I started thinking objectively about the importance of early financial education. They don’t teach our children vital financial planning and managing skills at school. As a result, many people thought it was ok to get a mortgage on a million-dollar home with an income of under 100K a year! When I was younger, I, too, was under the impression that credit card allows access to “free” money… Comprehensive financial education should not be reserved to a) professionals b) special times (ex when one makes a big purchase such as a house, car, etc. ) Mobile technology to the rescue!
I like the conversations you have now with your son, that will most definitely enable him to make sound financial decisions in the future and hopefully support his overall financial health. -
I love how much personality you put into this post, Michelle! I had fun reading it. I love that you turned the tragedy of broken Spider-Man into an opportunity to teach your son about money by leveraging digital tools! The seamless experience of online banking is definitely something that I take for granted, especially during COVID. I do all my banking online and only find myself going to a bank for the ATM or for a currency exchange before a trip (which won’t be happening any time soon). I don’t have any children, but by the time that I do, I can only imagine the advances in technology that will exist, given the exponential growth rate.

Great Post and pic Aja! You’re little one is adorable! When my son was in preschool, his school used an app called ‘brightwheel” . This was roughly 4 years ago and at the time I was skeptical of the app because let’s face it — no app is a better substitute for your child’s protection than their mama! BUT eventually I got used to the pics and the…[Read more]

Hi Taryne! You took me back to TLC JAM! (I had to play the song just because lol!)
I agree with you, that both methods can be effective given the right environment. The project requirements need to be clearly defined and with COVID-19 hitting the world as hard as it has, there’s no way companies can stick solely to the waterfall method. I have…[Read more]

Love this post Michelle! Especially because of this weeks speaker Christine May. Like she said we need to have a level of empathy and efficiency to survive in the market right now. Also being flexible and innovative is certainly key. Those who adapt will be the ones who succeed.

Great post, Michelle! I agree with Erin and our guest speaker, Christine May, on how the strategic business decisions during this time could have consequences that live longer than the virus. Now that COVID has disrupted our normal way of life, I wonder how organizations will survive without adopting an agile approach to their marketing and sales efforts.

Great post, Michelle! In my work line, there was very little we could do in terms of reinventing our services. We certainly, made qualitatively new offerings and improved the existing ones, but, after all, food cannot be digitized or served via zoom. I did, nevertheless, observed first hand, how my fiance’s company turned their business model upside down while facing COVID inflicted challenges. Michael and his brother run the children’s camps across the US. When pandemic hit, they faced tough decisions, and they needed to act fast. Pivoting in an entirely new direction, they terminated all in-person operations and switched to offering groundbreaking (yes, I am so proud of him) digital product. Agile model suited the direction they were taking along with the new challenges and goals in times of uncertainty. And as you mentioned, they do work around the clock…that’s my personal complaint about this agile stuff 🙂

Great Post Jen!
I definitely agree that we could be missing an opportunity to close the the Build-Measure-Learn feedback loop. Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft) pushed the company to operate more collaboratively in 2014. Under his leadership Microsoft has launched products such as Windows 10, Minecraft, Xbox360 and HoloLens.
