Is there a way to build an app around a medication you create? That way you are building on a community you already have but its not directly relating to your a prescription so you don’t have the same red tape with the government. So for example I know Merck makes the drug Belsomra for people who have trouble sleeping. They could create an app…[Read more]

• The most efficient way to reach your audience is to deliver a […]

This past election was brutal. I believe that is was,and for those still needing to discuss it is, possible to share things from your side that does not alienate friends with a different perspective. It is all in how its worded. No body wants to be preached at on social media or made to feel like their friends are trying to get them to change…[Read more]

You bring up some really interesting points about how social media is at the cross section of free speech and a user agreement everyone signs when they enact a profile. As a company they are entitled to have their users follow certain principles on their platform and if you don’t then they ban you. The reality is very few people read the user…[Read more]

This is really interesting. Its a great way to engage with customers around their products. For selfish reasons I hope it offers recipes too. That would make life a lot easier.

In this digital era where more consumers are brand agnostic marketers face the difficult challenge of finding a way to build brand loyalty. In the past, loyalty grew solely from the love of a product. While that […]

Great post, Lauren,
I’d say where online store experiences can be improved with VR tech, they will be. Your example of trying on clothes is a good one. But I can see VR in retail becoming something like 3D TV; the novelty an excitement wore off pretty quickly when it became obvious what a one-trick pony 3D TV was. People realized that watching The Mummy in 3D was one thing but watching anything else that way quite another. So depending on where it’s applied it can work. The grocery store VR might not be a good idea. Test-riding a mountain bike would be hard to pull off. I can think of a few but you get my point. Part of the appeal to shopping online is ease-of-use and the time efficiency created. It seems inserting a VR middleman discounts those two assets to a large degree.

I will speak on these as a consumer. I will be very upset as someone who prefers to read text over watching a video if everything goes to that medium. I would spend less time on my phone, computer, and tablet if the only way I was forced to consume content is through videos and revert to old school print. Plus half the time when I tell siri…[Read more]

The first thing I thought of when I read this is it sounds very reminiscent of when the American Indian Movement was founded in 1968. Obviously there was no social media but they piggybacked their cause on the Civil Rights Movement to gain traction and mobilize protests to amplify the message. Now they are using a different and more immediate medium.

You bring up a good point here. In a time where to some people social media stars are celebrities where does the influencer line end and celebrity endorsement line begin?

I think it depends on what the influencer is promoting. If its for a weight loss product or something otherwise regulated then yes but if its clothing or pinball machines I am not sure how much is necessary beyond a #. At the time how do you regulate an industry where some people are so desperate to believe in something they will buy a product…[Read more]
