This is spot-on, Gennie! I’ve actually gotten into the habit of reviewing company pages on Facebook before I do any business with them to see if they are responsive and how they handle negative or positive feedback from their clients. It can be as small as ordering a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes online. Before I make a purchase with an…[Read more]

I think it’s safe to say – without actually getting political – that issues with trustworthiness in the 2016 Presidential race have been significant. Both sides are seeing their fair share of doubt, and fact check […]

People tend to feel quite passionate about reaching the end of summer. You have those who hate the cold and never want summer to end, and those who despise the heat and can’t wait to pull out the scarves, boots a […]

Kimberly Johnson wrote a new post, Clickability Gets Personal, on the site Digital Innovation in Mobile Marketing and Communication – Professor Lori Greene 6 years, 9 months ago
Clickability tends to boil down to strategic targeting and personalization. The only content I find myself clicking on, or even interested in, has to be targeted to my interests. This was really clear to me when I […]

Kimberly Johnson wrote a new post, Incorporating an Agile Approach to Project Management, on the site MIS 5102: Process Improvement and Innovation 6 years, 10 months ago
I think it can be easy to overlook the importance and prevalence of project management in an organization. Depending on the size of the company you work at, you may have very minimal involvement with a large […]

I totally agree, Joe. Before I even knew about Agile, I knew that’s what I was looking for in our Master’s program. It’s digital marketing. It’s changing constantly. I didn’t want to be working out of a text book that wouldn’t be accurate for more than a few days. Same in business. The ability to evolve the process at any time is essential w…[Read more]

This sounds amazing, Michael. Working in the hospitality industry, we have to be incredibly diligent in making sure that 100% of our information is secure. Having a non-human way to catch and patch to prevent attacks sounds like a dream. I unfortunately have some trust issues and wonder how effective it would be in the end. But fingers crossed it…[Read more]

You are so right. I didn’t even think about Panera. It’s just kind of gross to think about your food sitting and waiting next to the door.

Kimberly Johnson wrote a new post, Reading Summary #3: Dunkin Donuts Order On-the-Go App Functionality, on the site MIS 5109: User Experience Design 6 years, 11 months ago
As an avid coffee drinker, I have to admit – I have the Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks apps easily accessible on my iPhone. I use both quite often, and have largely been impressed by the convenience of paying via p […]

I am with you. I cannot imagine ordering through an app for something as time-sensitive as hot food or beverage pick up I entered an Panera a couple of days ago and passed a shelf with three orders sitting on the “pick up” shelves. In the 10 minutes that I sat there drinking my coffee – I only saw one picked up. Goofy! Especially in a basically empty store. Sometimes companies try to “out-convenience” common sense.

Such a great example of effectively using the “5 Whys,” Braden. Thanks for sharing this story. I love that Toyota has done this. Such a great idea to donate efficiency measures. I’ve definitely had encounters with non-profits that have been so delayed, so inefficient, that I was very reluctant to donate to their cause. If their funds are not being…[Read more]

Very nice breakdown, Jennie! I’m sitting here sipping my iced coffee from Starbucks as I’m reading this post. I always use the app for my purchases, but haven’t had the guts to use the mobile ordering function yet. I think you’re spot on. They have a big issue with the process. It sounds great, but there is a lot of uncertainty about how it will…[Read more]
