FINALLY! This has been the talk of the town in my family. I can’t believe how many people were tuned into this Giraffe giving birth. I wanted nothing to do with it, but because it was shared so many times, I couldn’t get away!

Great article, Amy! I would love to think that more retailers will utilize this brick-and-mortar idea in the future! For book readers, they will know that they can trust Amazon’s book selection to run right to their space. I know a lot of book readers that walk around a Barnes and Noble for hours looking for the perfect book, so this might be the…[Read more]

This is a great article Sean! I totally like how Netflix is going towards the thumbs up / thumbs down approach. This reminds me of what Facebook did in the past with their content to determine if viewers wanted to see certain posts or not before determining their actual algorithm. I personally would watch a movie with a 3-5 star rating, as long as…[Read more]

So hilarious! I feel as though couples who want to go to Vegas to get married would be completely fine with doing it at a Taco Bell. Especially since it makes for a really funny story!

I love this post, especially since it hits me directly with my current position. I work really closely with our affiliate marketing manager who works with a third party company to send influencers products. You have to wonder how much TV do we ultimately want or need. Netflix and Amazon have established themselves as creators of innovative content, some of which is extremely popular. And then we have YouTube which has every possible kind of content you’d want.
How would Facebook TV distinguish itself? Maybe it would succeed thanks to its already huge customer based. But maybe it should consider partnering with an established content creator. It’ll be interesting to watch!
-
Since Netflix, Amazon, Apple, etc. already fill my television wants or needs the only way I’d be drawn into watching Facebook original shows would be if they create high quality and well done shows.
If they do end up being successful with their plans I see it being yet another disruptor for traditional television. Netflix and Amazon are already heavily rooted and have shown they are willing and capable to reacting to industry changes that I doubt they’d be affected.

This is a great article! It’s hard to say if Facebook will ahem success as a distributor for original content. It does make sense in a lot of ways to take it this direction, because any big show that comes on users are making a status of it. Whether its a season premier, or someone discovering a new show for the first time, most users will turn to Facebook to talk about it. So why not have what they’re talking about all in one place, the show and the ” message board”.

1. Going to Facebook is not really a concern since most are on there already. Thus adding video to an already, heavily used social media platform should only add value in the long run. My concern would be content management and ownership. Will the video feature be open for all to use and upload? Will there be a moderator policing content, and will youtube videos still be allowed?

This looked like more of a report, who wants to keep scrolling to find out the information? If you get them to at least click on the email, you definitely need to get them to stay! The data should have been all in one chart, and compared men vs. woman. Also, the percentages for each question (men vs. woman) were exactly the same. That led me to…[Read more]

So smart of both Lyft & Uber to stay on top of their game during these crazy times, however, it’s also extremely important to know exactly what you are doing before you take the plunge in your next marketing move. It looks like Uber screwed up big time, and now Lyft is getting ahead. Sorry Uber, pay more attention to what’s happening around you!

This is definitely a smart move for the NYT as print is slowly dying as a source of news. However, people are listening to podcasts while traveling, driving to work, etc. so I could see this as a huge move for their company and many other new sources!

It was basically a commercial for Gaga! First of all, it seemed like she disappeared for awhile and then made this massive comeback! Now she’s selling millions of records again & going on tour! I personally thought of it like a mini brand ad campaign. She’s now back in the game, even though we all knew and loved her before!
