Great post Karen. I find this topic very interesting. It’s one of those new technologies that’s disruptive and innovative. Disruptive because in some instances it’s replacing and/or providing a different option to bluetooth and wifi. Innovative because it has created a whole new mobile pay (mobile wallet) market. What’s really fascinating to me is…[Read more]

Great post, Damarah…this article hits close to home because I worked at Complex for 8 months in 2017. I lived in Los Angeles for 6 years. I was the Director of Ad Operations of the LA office and right before I was hired, Verizon came in and bought them for $100 million. Verizon eventually brought in their operations team and laid off the…[Read more]

Great post Kricket,,,Wendy’s Twitter is fascinating to me, I always wonder who is behind it, is it a team, is it one person?
As a brand they seem really in tune with the times, from releasing a hip-hop mixtape to flirting with MoonPie, and relentlessly roasting McDonald’s. There seems to be no limit to their sass, as they continue winning on…[Read more]

Justin Jones wrote a new post, The "GOAT" – The AI and AR app for SneakerHeads, on the site Digital Innovation in Mobile Marketing and Communication MKTG 5606 Fall 2019 3 years, 3 months ago
Through their app, Goat is solely leveraging mobile to improve the experience of the secondary market for collectible shoe selling. In the resell premium sneaker market, counterfeits are big a problem. GOAT i […]

Really interesting app, Justin. Seems like quite the sophisticated operation.
To me though, while they are certainly mobile-first, most of what they are doing is not specifically tailored to mobile. It’s just delivered through an app. The experience would work more or less identically through a website or tablet.
What stood out to me was the use of AR for a virtual dressing room. That ability, combined with the assurance of their fraud detection, shows me an experience that’s being optimized to mobile.
Anything else come to mind that might be different in the app experience than on another device?

I love this Justin! The company I work for is big on community service and that is one of the main reasons I love working for them. In my particular role, I get to give back to the community that I grew up in and it is a great feeling to be able to do this while also doing something that I love! I feel like companies that truly care about the community they are in help influence their workers to work harder because they realize that the services they provide affect that community as well. It was great learning something about you that I didn’t know! I would have never taken you for a plant guy!

I love that you found Comcast through Comcast Cares Day! My organization has repeatedly returned to the same park in the Overbrook section of West Philly to revitalize the park by planting flowers, trees and herbs. I love giving back outside of work, but it really is great to have an employer who is also invested in helping out the local communities!

Ah ok, interesting…I didn’t know there was different access to conent for when you’re on the freemium model. But that does make sense. I think you might like the app better.

Great post Cliff!! So funny, I am the same way with the push notifications. It’s also very difficult for me to ignore them as well. Before this class I didn’t really think about exactly why I prefer apps on a practical level, but the features you pointed out are exactly why. To answer your question, I immediately thought of Spotify, which is a per…[Read more]

This is one reason why I LOVE ridesharing apps! Not only are they beneficial on nights I get too inebriated to drive but I never have to worry about having cash for rides. I also love the fact that when I am ready to go, I can always leave a function without having to wait on my friends. Sometimes, I wonder if old fashioned taxi services will one day go out of business do the popularity of Uber/Lyft or if they will turn to a app service that allows people to set up transportation easier.
