I enjoyed reading this post Nicoli! It is so true! I was actually just talking about this with a few coworkers the other day and how Hulu is offering their services for less than $12 a year (99 cents a month which you can cancel anytime.)
With this in mind, I had wondered what Hulu’s competitors would come back with, or if they will even do…[Read more]

As a content marketer, your job will become increasingly easier when you have material that is evergreen, or content that stays relevant for a very long time and doesn’t expire.
So what content has a longer s […]

My example is a little different but I think it is still considered real-time marketing. I like when brands, mainly competitors, take to social media, which I have seen many of times on Twitter, to bash their products or marketing campaigns. Coming to mind is Wendy’s and McDonald’s where they are going back and forth, real-time, to make sure that…[Read more]

Without doing any research, I am curious to know the father’s background and how this idea came about. Most of Gen Z have used the Internet since a young age and are comfortable with technology and social media so I am curious how his father (assuming he is Gen X or older) can understand this different “way of life via technology” than his son who…[Read more]

Loved the Jimmy Kimmel spoof! What makes me curious is at what “level of disaster” would we receive an actual notification from the president? Did those in Pittsburgh receive something when they found out about the synagogue shooting? Would this be targeted by a specific radius/geolocation or would it be nationwide? If we declare war, would we get…[Read more]

Nice recap of Dunkin’ and M&Ms! I think more brands should use holiday’s as an advantage if it makes sense for them, possibly even creating an event around the holiday to make it more memorable (think Mole Street and Molstice around the Summer Solstice.)
User generated content is very powerful and allows others (users) to give their feelings…[Read more]

With Halloween on the horizon, I am sure you know where this comment is going…
I read an article (https://www.phillyvoice.com/flyers-mascot-gritty-halloween-costumes-2018-best-worst-dogs-pumpkins) about how Philly fans will be dressing up as Gritty for Halloween. Some are creative but as a Flyers fan, I am slow to the Gritty bandwagon.

I just wrote about this documentary as an eportfolio post and I think it should be watched! Part 2 comes on tonight and I am excited to hear how Facebook “played a role” in the 2016 election.
My question is how (if at all) will this change other social media out there and their views on data privacy and protection.

Great question, Christine. I am not sure it is a prank but that’s just my personal opinion. I like the Game of Thrones play as well.

I loved reading your post and appreciate your recommendations to mitigate the damage that those those pesky social media trolls create!

One thing I wish I knew in college about social media was that each operate and optimize differently. Yes, I knew that they were different platforms but I didn’t realize how different my results would be if I posted the same video accompanied by text on Facebook than I would on LinkedIn or YouTube.
Another thing is optimizing when I post on…[Read more]

I think dating will be a way to lure individuals back to Facebook, especially when the platform opens up to a larger audience outside of Columbia. There are many competitors to online dating and I think by ask questions about the potential match through their pictures might be a good start to engagement but I think the requirements for those…[Read more]

I agree with Collene’s comment. It’s not only everything that happens before they purchase but also retention and upselling after they become a customer. (Social) strategy shouldn’t stop once they sign on the dotted line.

Just a quick note that Twitter is suspending new applications for verified profiles. They do not have a date in time when the approval process will resume.
