THE INTERNET OF STINGS
A short play by Jason Lindner
A dark alley in the sadly not too distant future. A scruffy young woman with pink hair (ROSIE) is approached by a buttoned-up businessman (HUGH). […] -

Hi Jason,
Great article! I like the dichotomy of data questions that you pose when it comes to “good and evil.” I for one believe that data can be inherently good, and make life easier for every day consumers. Akin to this, I agree with your ideals of collaboration between companies and nonprofits using data to change the word for the better. Of course, you will get your skeptics and those who will believe that the government and corporations are spying on them, but as a whole data can lead to all kinds of breakthroughs. I think questions surrounding the usage and selling of data might become more strict as government policies catch up with initiatives and technology, but in the meantime we are in quite the grey area for government regulations.

Are you a “Speak to a representative” person? Or do you just hit 0 until you get someone to talk to? What do you do when you get caught in “voice-jail”, or maybe the dreaded “chatbot loop” that keeps r […]

Jason, this was an awesome post! I believe that Samantha summed it up quite well- “the most annoying inventions”. These little pop ups that come when you are leaving the page or within seconds of entering the site can be quite frustrating and only give information they are programed to provide. Most of which is unhelpful for the in depth problem solving questions I research at my workplace. If sites continue to use this AI, they should be developing it into a human like interaction with learned behaviors. Since most companies use the bots to answer the simplest questions that are not helpful, the frustrations become more prominent when a customer then has to contact customer support. As one who constantly relies on AI to answer questions in my daily life, I think it is only right that these chat boxes be helpful technology or a dying one.

Hey Friends — I’ve been working pretty extensively in social for about 10 years, but I have a secret — I just can’t get into twitter. I don’t know why — it’s just not the medium for me. The visual aspects of IG are great and I love a good IG story and I see a number of great ways to still use facebook, linkedin and Youtube. I’m even cool with…[Read more]
