Great post Sam. I definitely see VR becoming really huge in the Porn Industry. Regular porn videos probably wont even exist anymore in the future they will all probably switch to doing everything in VR. I’m curious to see how marketers will start using VR in different ways to connect with their customers.

Awesome post Holly. Virtual Reality intrigues me as well. I’m so curious to see what the future holds for VR and how marketers will use VR to connect with their customers. Temple University actually did a Virtual Reality Video Tour of the campus. Me and a couple of other students were asked to be a part of it and be in the video. We had to be the…[Read more]

Interesting ideas, Eni. Maybe down the road this Masters program could be taught by way of virtual reality. During breakout sessions, we could work on activities which go beyond computer screens. Another way companies could use virtual reality could be for interior design. A designer could look at the space in order to design it and then the client would be able to get a real life look at how the interior designer plans to decorate before materials are purchased,

Good post Eni!
@Rachel, your interior design idea is great. I’ve actual seen it in practice in my industry (apartment rentals) in some of the higher end-leasing offices. The problem is that the real estate tour VR experience is limited at best; it essentially consists of the 3D renderings and marketing materials these companies use on their websites (which by and large are not good to begin with) ported into a VR headset. It is only immersive in the sense that it envelopes ones entire field of vision. And cost. Oh my god the cost. I’ve been pitched on this rather rudimentary tech and was bowled over by pricing guidance in the 5-figure range in addition to monthly service charges (?!). More power to any agency able to get their price for such a service, but those days are numbered. As the tech becomes cheaper (Google Cardboard) and more widely available, I think fully realized and designed 3D real estate tours will become the norm. -
Wonderful information about how healthcare is using VR.

I’m definitely one of those people who checks my email on my phone throughout the day. On my personal email account, I’d say 97% of the daily emails I get are from different retailers boasting their deal for the day. I’m getting promo codes, and sales notifications like crazy constantly. Do I open them all? Absolutely not. But I will mark something as read and save it if I think I’m going to make a purchase soon. If you can hit your audience with the right ad at a time they are looking to buy, that inexpensive email marketing is gold. Ebates does a really great job at this. When they send an email announcing the retailers deal plus and additional % cash back, it’s hard to resist when you are already in the market – or at least a bit interested.
