Awesome post! My property management company had already been doing the application process 100% online but what’s changed is the way tours are conducted and scheduled– it’s all online right now and tours are self-guided. We introduced a new application where prospects can schedule their tour at whatever day and time they want and when they’re at…[Read more]

Many CIO’s, CEOs and other business stakeholders may wonder if it’s time to transform dig […]

Thanks Danielle for sharing! Digital Transformation is something managers need to be more cognizant about. I do remember the lesson learned from our earlier classes and also what I learned about watching episodes of “The Profit” on CNBC: it starts with the peoples mindset first. Adding digital transformation to the mix with managers or stakeholders who have no strategy, governance, or process will only magnify their issues. For instance, I am going to call out my own working group at my job for not having a proper process in place for who is accountable or responsible. You can add all the information technology to help organize and notify peoples workloads, but without someone calling the shots, putting a process in place for people to follow, or delegation it could become a derailment.

I use GPS apps all the time, and whenever there is an opportunity to take a faster route, I do. I definitely think that big data is the way to go–everyone wants to waste less time on the road and more time doing whatever it is they were driving to do. Not only that, but traffic stresses many people out and doesn’t exactly put them in a good mood…[Read more]

I totally agree. Being able to have an organ printed rather than waiting is definitely more important. I think if there were some rules (which I’m sure many will be implemented) there will be a nice balance between getting patients the organs they need and making sure surgeons continually practice and sharpen their skills.

Interesting post! I think this app was needed. As you noted, there are a lot of scammers out there and tons of free photos available online. With this app, there is more authenticity which is really hard to find in today’s digital world as well as the media and current politics. I wonder if this type of technology can be further developed to be…[Read more]

I’ve always hated the doctor’s office, mainly, the wait, the crowd, the follow ups etc. If AI can assist with at least one of these things, I’d be all for it. Thus far, I have had no experience with AI in the medical field but I would be the first in line to try it if it became available! I think AI will definitely eliminate some jobs but it will…[Read more]

Great post!
I’ve always been fascinated by 3D printing and never really thought about disadvantages or limitations. The one thing I can think of is perhaps it would make skilled employees lazier. For instance, instead of surgically removing an organ and implanting it into the recipient, they would be taking the 3D print of it and implanting it…[Read more]

“Who buys a car without test driving it first?” Sara Kies.
I purchased my last car online. I live in Iowa and I purchased the car online from a dealership in Florida. The transaction took place on Sunday (all car dealerships are closed on Sunday in Iowa) and it included negotiations on the trade-in of my old car. The entire process took two days to complete. It wasn’t long before the family and I were making the trip cross-country to Disney World – with a pit stop at Bozard Ford in St. Augustine to pick up my new ride.
No-one could believe that I bought a car online – sight unseen and bypassing the test drive. But the one thing I hate about the car buying experience is the haggling and human interaction (I apologize if anyone works in the car dealership industry). I would much rather handle the details online, with straight to the point tactics. I think the success of AI in the auto industry will depend on how the consumer likes to shop for big ticket items.
Great post, Dannie!!!

A very cult-followed car company, Tesla, has an option to buy online. Well, I should say pre-order. They tend to over-promise when it comes to delivery dates, sometimes by weeks. During the purchasing process, while choosing the features you want in your car, there are some features that are for “pre-order” (like self-driving). Is it hurting Tesla’s social capital by not being clear on when these features, that they are asking people to pre-pay for, will be available? Or will their elevated cultural position be enough to save them?

I am all about avoiding the doctor’s office at all costs. I don’t like the wait and there’s always one person who’s sneezing and coughing without covering up! Given that I do a lot of daily things online, the idea of an online dermatologist is a winner to me!
