Today, Instagram announced a new advertising format that will allow marketers to target their audience via Stories. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
I’m sure we are all aware that Facebook owns Instagram, and that […]

Amen, Morgyn! My company is a part of the content problem. We totally create loads of content, and throw it all out there to see what sticks. Our marketing campaigns, specifically demand gen campaigns, perform terribly, and our content team just keeps wondering “why?”. A major issue that i see is that the content is created even before the…[Read more]

According to a leaked memo, Snapchat’s CEO (Evan Spiegel) is looking to attract older users since they typically generate a higher average revenue per user. This is an interesting approach that I will be curious […]

Pretty interesting to see how far we’ve come to use and accept emogi’s. I don’t believe I see them very often, if at all, on my company’s social postings. I may have to march over to the social media manager to share these stats, so we can experiment.

This is pretty surprising (i think). While I tend to believe that email is a dying form of communication, I can see the logic behind why an engineer (for example) may end up opening an email over any other type of tactic. They aren’t the type of person to be browsing around online, or scrolling through social media. I suppose that if the subject…[Read more]

I have to admit that I had a similar opinion on Gritty when he was first revealed. However, with all of the media coverage and social attention, he has started to grow on me. My news feeds were blowing up also with different opinions and memes on regarding Gritty, so it was certainly a successful “launch” in that regard!

Nice post Christine,
My company struggles with content. We tend to push the hard sell way too soon, and when we don’t push it, our content just seems boring and not entertaining whatsoever. We obviously run analytics on everything we do, and our numbers stink! We aren’t compelling enough to keep people’s attention (in my opinion). Of course,…[Read more]

Nice post Nicoli! I saw this yesterday and was amazed. Such creativity from this artist. I can’t believe that no one even realized there was a shredder built into this frame. I’m also intrigued as to how it was activated. Was he possibly at the auction? Regardless, it was awesome!

Nice post, Michael! I have to say that I am not surprised. I remember when Google first launched Google+. I waited at least six months to a year to join, and was not at all impressed. It’s kind of amusing that such a large corporation, with tons of success, can fail at so many levels. Even with all their failed projects, they are still laughing…[Read more]

Brian Ravenna wrote a new post, Choosing the Right Social Platform, on the site Social Media Innovation MIS 5603 Fall 2018 4 years, 5 months ago
When it comes to choosing the right social platforms for your business, are you really giving it any thought? I’m sure a lot of users just figure that “it’s free”, and “it can’t hurt”. This may be true, but its […]

This is kind of bizarre… I haven’t even heard of it. Why wouldn’t Facebook just advertise on their platform, or send all users a message that they are doing this? I am on Facebook multiple times throughout the day, and haven’t even seen my friends mention it either. Baffling!

This is very interesting, Angi. We are always trying to figure out our customer’s journeys, and more often that not, we struggle at it. My managers are constantly referring to the “funnel”, but lack the understanding that it goes much more beyond awareness, consideration and decision. Customers are all over the place with content, so we need to…[Read more]
