Getting SMARTer with SMART tracking
I attended the American Marketing Association’s 3 hour webinar Oct. 29, “Leverage Analytics to Power your Marketing Strategy.” The main gem I took from this webinar was the s […] -
Ava Shije wrote a new post, Using Cloud Campaign for social post approval, on the site Ava Shije 1 year, 8 months ago
After years of spending hours each week finding social posts to fill up my clients’ editorial calendars, I finally brought on a social media manager (an actual human) to help me get the ball rolling. I’ve […]

I finally learned how filter my words, how could I do that with thoughts?! All jokes aside, there could be serious liabilities involved with letting thoughts out in the open. I know clients’ passwords…and some of them are funny. If I were to think of someone else’s password when trying to unlock another site, there could be potential for a…[Read more]

I love phone GPS…in fact, I used to get quite lost without it 🙂 This also reminds me of instances where people have been saved by Siri, who was able to call 911 for them. Did I just refer to Siri as a “who”? Unfortunately, I’ve also known someone in a dire circumstance who wasn’t able to call for help because their phone was doing an iOS…[Read more]

Personally, I think that my fingerprints might be one of the least interesting things that I don’t want people to know about…but I do identify with my face and show it to cameras the world over. While I hope I’m never in a John Wick situation where I have to be on the run, it is pretty crazy how far facial recognition technology has come in the…[Read more]

That would be amazing if the consent wording consisted of a clear and concise overview of how it’s being used, Dannie. I Think that’s a great idea. Sometimes I’m the one writing terms and conditions and privacy policies for websites, and some templates really cover a lot of bases with theirs. They’re a little different, because the privacy policy…[Read more]

When creating content for a brand on social media as well as across the website, marketers often talk about tone of voice. Good writers will also ask for tone of voice guidelines before writing an article, and it […]

I found it really interesting to think about buyer personas in the target market section of our capstone research. For existing customers, I could easily draw generalizations about them. However, when I think about pivoting to different types of customers that I don’t have experience with, I find myself asking, “does this person I’m imagining…[Read more]

Ava Shije wrote a new post, When does screen time stop being fun?, on the site Ava Shije 1 year, 9 months ago
It’s interesting that the majority of literature concerning screen time is geared toward parents who want to know if they should be limiting their children’s screen time. However, this is also a question for adu […]

I’ve used Apple’s “Photos” app for finding images based on geolocation. For example, plumbers have been at my house saying, “what did you do here??” and I was able to quickly open Photos, select my house’s location, and then scroll through the year that the previous plumbing work took place to find the reference photo of my pump house.
For…[Read more]

It’s cool to see how seamless phone integration with a car’s display can mean so much. When I was car shopping last year, Apple Car Play did seem like a cool feature, and I weighed it into my decision making. While I ended up with a car that doesn’t have Apple Car Play, it was amazing how suddenly a feature I hadn’t even considered before I…[Read more]

One of the more interesting topics we’ve explored under the umbrella of user experience is metaphor in design. I’m particularly interested in how this plays out with websites. Creating a website is like cre […]

I love that story (except for the part where you had to pull your hair out). So many times, there’s a way forward within the tools we already have at our disposal.
