I agree that there are certain benefits to having a war room set up during major events, but do those benefits outweigh the costs associated with it? A lot of retailers are also starting their specials the week of Thanksgiving online instead of just Black Friday. I wonder if brands would extend this type of war room approach to the whole week or…[Read more]

Thanks for sharing this article Matt! It is a very interesting subject, especially with how much of an influence social media played in our most recent election. However, I don’t know if it will make a drastic difference in the number of fake articles that circulate Facebook. I still see people share articles from the satirical news source, The…[Read more]

I usually check this site called theblackfriday.com that publishes all of the print ads in advance so I can plan out my shopping before the week of Thanksgiving. I also received A LOT of emails between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday from a bunch of different brands. I also use Ebates to get cashback on my Black Friday purchases. Ebates just gives…[Read more]

Usually on black friday/thanksgiving morning, I will do all of my shopping online so I don’t have to step foot in the stores. This year however I ran into several stores that had doorbusters “in store only,” so I did end up going to the store. I thought this was strange, because the push recently has been for consumers to shop online. While I was…[Read more]

This is a great read! Thanks tony! It’s crazy how intertwined social media becomes in our lives. It’s usually the first thing you look at when you wake up and the last thing you look at before bed. It’s how we get our news and advice, find new products, and stay connected with that person from high school you don’t talk to anymore, but still want…[Read more]

This is an interesting innovation. I think it could be really cool if you could have this experience as a group. Like we spoke about in class, it would be very costly for people to buy the VR headsets for more than one person to enjoy together gets a little costly. A lot of people that watch sporting events at home on tv, tend to watch in groups.…[Read more]

This is such a great partnership! Target pairing with Pinterest will definitely help with the success of their newly extensive line of home goods and decor. This capability will also cut down time browsing and allow for the customer to purchase the product they fall in love with quicker. Ebay also launched a similar visual search feature, which…[Read more]

I love Southwest as well, and I think they do an excellent job really encompassing everything they say their brand is. Everything they do further enforces their brand messaging. This 175 stories campaign is such a great idea! It’s a little reminder that something you do every day may be a new, exciting adventure, or a once-in-a-lifetime…[Read more]

I loved that commercial! At first it was really humorous to see them tackling all these random people in the city, but then they brought the add full circle at the end and showed that they were saving people from potentially tragic incidents. Very creative ad! After all this talk about Kit Kats and the different flavors is making me want to order…[Read more]

Those poor, innocent burgers!! I haven’t seen this video before now, but I kinda like it. I thought it was awesome that Burger King highlighted that people are more likely to take action, or stand up, when something directly affects them. They also know that no one else is going to look at them, with the smashed burger and get them a new one, so…[Read more]
