Congrats Torri! You’re 30 day plan sounds awesome. It is so important to try to meet everyone you can when starting a new job. This will be helpful with Ralph’s added point of asking questions. I know when I started my position it was super helpful to meet as many people as possible so I knew the right person to go to for specific questions.…[Read more]

Agile culture is so important in today’s MarTech world with marketing being an even bigger part of not just the organization but to IT projects. I think of Agile as “never stop learning.” There is always something to improve, something to fix, something to release and it is continuous while the project is still functional.
Website would take a whole year to launch. With Agile, you can launch a website in a week and continuously work on it and release updates overtime. WeChat’s success definitely can be contributed to Agile. I don’t believe they would have came into the market and exploded if it wasn’t for their diligence to the Agile method.

Fascinating post, Angie. I honestly had no idea that WeChat was developed under this methodology. As you mentioned its a powerhouse in China and for Chinese immigrants. They seem to have penetrated in America in some aspects but not as deeply as TikTok. Is there differences in those methodologies as well as the flat structure?

Melissa- awesome post. The customer journey for therapy definitely had to take a major shift due to COVID. To answer your question, I do think therapy sessions could benefit from being virtual. I agree with you that the comfort of your own home if a huge benefit. The convenience of having a session virtually is also a huge benefit; especially if…[Read more]

Awesome post Erin! This would be a game changer, especially for folks who may not be able to get to the pharmacy easily. I’m sure the demand for prescription delivery is very high. It is also great that Nuro is no extra charge! I assumed there would be some cost tied to a delivery service like this. After your post I was interested in learning m…[Read more]

Thank you, Angelica, for writing about the “essential” industry, at least for many of us, ladies (and as I look at my own and my boyfriend’s hair…yea, hair salons need to be considered essential!). While I observed many industries to successfully shift gears, adapt to new norms, and, at times, even rehabilitate their market influence, I wonder how giants like Sephora is going to proceed in post-COVID times. I agree with what you said about a customer journey: for so many beauty shoppers, the tangible experience remains crucial and, often, determining element in purchase making decisions. As for me, in-person store visits do not compare to any augmented-reality substitutions. There is something magical in Sephora and other sophisticated beauty stores. It’s the atmosphere, the ability to try on the product, actually feel, or smell it. It is truly a multisensory experience that doesn’t quite translate into a digital format. As a short term solution, virtual consultations, augmented reality apps, etc. may maintain customer loyalty and enthusiasm. Nevertheless, there is no replacing the physical store experience. Therefore, I think thousands of seasoned and novice beauty lovers across the country will flood the stores as soon as they open!

Great post Erin!. Like Danielle and Ralph, I use Facebook to stay in touch with family members. I do not typically post on my Facebook account but I do use it to create events if I am planning some type of event or trip with friends. It is the easiest way for me to manage RSVPs and reach out to everyone invited at one time. The new features sound…[Read more]

Thanks Jen! Hmm that is an interesting point. It could be the lack of funding for infrastructure.. I believe DOT probably has enough data to alleviate some traffic or at least enough data to recognize traffic patterns in certain areas but it is most likely not top of the priority list for any funding.

Thanks Katherine! I have thought to myself that it is probably dangerous for a diver to enter information about hazardous roads and closures but I assumed that why Waze enforces the auto passenger pop up if the car is moving. (I’m sure it is rarely the passenger entering this information) The pop up is probably a way to protect themselves because…[Read more]

Dannie, I agree with you. I also am a little skeptical about user provided information. If there were multiple sources about an occurrence holding up traffic, that may be more reliable than just one user making a claim. From what I have seen so far with Waze, the majority of user provided information has been accurate which is why I continue to…[Read more]

Thanks Michelle! I agree with you that big data may not be the complete solution but it definitely but apps such as Waze and Maps defiantly help! I’m bad with direction as it so I’m very thankful to have Waze provide me with directions with alternate routes.

Lindsay, nice post! Freenome sounds awesome! Early detection of cancer will be such a game changer and life saving innovation. Freenome sounds like a great way to assist doctors by eliminating a lot of the human error that can occur, but I do not think AI could replace doctors or people in the medical field. AI could instead just make them better…[Read more]
