Throughout 2016, we have seen video continuously become a primary driver of success in a marketer’s strategy.

Joe, I agree that the promotion behind this campaign is weak. I only heard about it because a friend of a friend worked on the concept. I have not seen any paid advertisements or promotions surrounding this campaign, and have only seen it on Ally social channels. Start cracking open those piggy banks!

I really like this campaign and I am one of the few that always picks up pennies. I usually just toss them in my pocket then they end up in one of my kids’ piggie banks when I get home. Now I wonder if I have to crack the piggie banks open to see if I have one of the lucky pennies! This makes me question the promotion of this campaign. This is a great campaign but I would argue the promotion behind it is pretty weak because this is the first time I am hearing about this. I am now curious as to how you heard about this? Where did Ally find you?

Thanks for the post, Gennie. I agree with you completely. I have seen brands attempt to work with an influencer that is extremely well known, but they are the wrong fit for the brand. Forcing this relationship will be noticed by consumers, and it will not appear natural and this could deter them from choosing that brand in the future. When an…[Read more]

Holly, great post! So often I find content that is “targeted” towards me based on demographics, but the product is not relevant to me at all. It is so important for brands to really understand their audiences and only target the right content to them. Consumers are becoming overloaded with content that is not relevant and it may start to have a…[Read more]

These are certainly some cringeworthy social media fails. I completely agree that organizations need to be able to adapt and learn from the social media efforts in order to remain effective. A great aspect of social media is how quickly feedback can be gathered (ex: the outrage from a controversial post). Great post, Alex!
