A Little Bit About Me
Thanks for stopping by! I grew up in Lansdale, PA and currently live in Bucks County (about 45 minutes from Temple’s Main Campus). I graduated from Indiana University of PA (IUP) in 2011with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Public Relations with a desired goal of working in a boutique PR firm in Philadelphia. Like most, my career pathway was quickly rerouted after landing my first real job — which was for a large fitness and health enterprise in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia as their Marketing Manager. In this position I solely managed all traditional and digital marketing, public relations and advertising for the center.
After working closely with the center’s website developer and pushing for more emphasis on social media, I started to realize my love for digital marketing. With this new revelation, I also realized I needed to learn more about the digital world, which meant moving on. I ended up as a Social Media & SEO Project Coordinator for a small digital marketing agency in Bucks County, PA. In this role, I implemented social media and SEO campaigns for multiple clients in a variety of industries. I worked closely with various marketing and IT professionals at the agency and learned a lot.
A few years later, I was ready to move on and learn more. My next position was a Digital Communications Specialist at a small graduate university in Montgomery County, PA. Within this role, I led the development and strategy of all digital content through multiple websites and social media platforms. I also managed the launch of five websites which included: information architecture development, content creation, accessibility implementations, website design, etc.
Finally, after 5 years in that role, I moved onto my current position as the Senior Digital Content Specialist at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. I’ve been in this role for less than a year but I am very excited to be a part of Temple!
I chose this Masters program because I am ready to hone in on my digital skills and think more about the overall picture. I look also forward to connecting with like-minded individuals in the digital marketing field!
