When I was younger, I used to be afraid of the letter “F”. How could I like something that stood for failure? Ironically, as an adult, all my passions circulate that letter being: fashion, food, fitness and fun. That letter turned into something fantastic. In addition, I also enjoy traveling and blogging.
New York Fashion Week
Fashion is a form of expression and there is no better place to explore new trends than New York Fashion Week. The best word to describe Fashion Week is, electric. It is full of a variety of talented designers, models and teams. My role as one of the Venue Assistants was to configure the hair and makeup studio, backstage and runway set ups as well as assist in-house PR teams with seating arrangements and gift bags. In addition, I greeted guests and ensured each show ran smoothly. Collaboration, speed and efficiency are the keys to succeed during NYFW.
Life itself is an adventure, but what makes it even more beautiful is exploration. To be able to understand and be immersed in a culture so different from your own is personal growth. I had the opportunity to study in Barcelona, Spain for four months. This experience dared me to venture outside my comfort zone. I learned native dances such as flamenco, ate tapas and paella as well as figured out their transportation system (this may have entailed getting on the wrong bus and going the opposite direction on the metro, but needless to say I survived). I was able to travel to different parts of Spain including: Málaga, Ibiza and Basque Country. In addition, I also also visited 4 other countries. I look forward to my next journey and cannot wait to learn about another region.
