- Target – Hello Pumpkin Season!
Found on Facebook, this ad was as simple as they come. It shows a Target shopping cart that’s loaded to the brim with adorable fall decor. This picture immediately filled me with nostalgia for cooler weather, redecorating, and pumpkin spice. It’s also something that I would share, because it’s objectively a well composed, bright, and fun photo. The main value of this photo to the business is that it showcases their seasonal decor in a tasteful, fun way. - ColourPop Cosmetics – Labor Day is OVER
I acme across this ad on Twitter, where ColourPop Cosmetics proclaims that Labor Day being over means that it’s time to break out the Fall lip colors, and I am all for it. The value for the company is that they can showcase their fall colors ahead of the season, getting people thinking about swapping their summery brights for some dark fall tones. It’s not something I would necessarily share, but I thought it was tastefully done. Many times I find makeup companies ads to be super gaudy and in your face, and this one is pretty simple, which resonated with me. - GAP – Back to School
Found on Twitter, this ad from Gap features children of all races modeling Gap’s latest gear. This ad has been the buzz of the internet, providing consistent value to the firm. Not only does the ad portray the clothing retailer as accepting and worldly, but it tells kids and parents of all races that Gap is a brand for them. The value for the brand here is also that the ad is being so widely talked about, especially in today’s shaky political climate. The ad has been shared widely on social media, with people (both celebrity and not) touting the ad as one of the best of the season. This ad is definitely something I would share, since it has such a positive message that I can get behind.
