I am intensely interested in both food and photography. Over the ten years that I worked as a pastry chef, I also became an avid photographer. I used it as a way to record my work, display my skills, and keep track of favorites! Over the past few years, my passion for baking has shifted and changed a bit; I still love it intensely, but I knew that it was time to make a change. Working long hours in a kitchen all weekend long starts to really wear down on you after a while, especially as you get older.
That being said, working in a busy kitchen is an experience that I wish everyone could have. It pushes you to develop production speed, fast reflexes, discipline, quick communication, and problem solving skills in addition to truly appreciating the joy of hard work and creating amazing food for others.
