Interests

Who’s That Person?

Some of my interests fall in the realm of physicals activities since I work mostly on the computer, so I tried to exercise my body by going archery shooting or biking around the city. Whenever I go on vacation, I always try to do a food and alcohol tour that has some elements of biking to justify my desire for eating junk food and getting to socialize with new folks. I do lean toward being an introvert that when I feel like staying in, I would bake treats that I would share with my coworkers so I’m not the only one eating it. When I’m not baking, I am catching up on the latest anime series, building a Gundam model, or a keyboard.

Being born in January has it’s draw backs, one being that everyone is cool and tired from the rush of the holiday season that celebrating my birthday was not an option. So, in my adult life I started going on trips every year close to my birthday to see another part of the world I was born into. I would travel with one of my closest friends, but with covid and a recent move I have started to venture by myself which has been a journey that has been worth it. Whenever, I would go one a trip I would do activities that involve being in a group, that would make it easier to talk to people. There have been a few times where I would be biking with a group of folks from a tour and afterward, we would all go a to a restaurant afterwards. Recently, I drove to Portland, Maine where I met the most interesting people that I wouldn’t have done if I was traveling with someone. There are some dangers of traveling alone, especially, being a small Hispanic queer woman, but I feel like I was aware of my surrounding and had help from the local business owners that helped me feel safe.

In term of sports, I have been an avid recurve archer. I started back in 2018 when a friend took me to an indoor archery range in NJ. Originally, this friend started shooting because he saw an archery anime and felt like learning something new. I felt the same way as him because I was watching the same series at the time but didn’t know there was an archery place nearby. I fell in love with archery that I bought a bow 3 weeks later because I couldn’t deal with shooting a light weight bows anymore. Recently, Philly is opening its first archery range that I’m hoping to bring my friends and coworkers to share my hobby.

I love animation and still do! I have always been behind a computer making a 3D model or in my sketchbook drawing whatever I could think of. Even with watching anime it inspired me to continue to pursue an art related career. My skills tend to circular around hand on skills that involve building or designing, that my hobbies include building anime models or mechanical keyboard. The tactility of building and designing bleed to my career in working on Television sets to design medical tools for clients. The people around know that when I miss a text a call.
