Cypress was built with the overwhelmed credit card holder in mind. Credit card companies, banks and retailers incentivize consumers to sign up for their credit cards by offering better perks and rewards, and consequently, the number of credit cards held by the average American adult has been steadily increasing. The credit card industry’s marketing is working: there are an estimated 1.1 billion credit cards in the United States and counting, with the average consumer carrying at least four and perceiving rewards to be as valuable as spendable cash. And yet, 1 in 3 cardholders didn’t claim a single reward last year, leaving money on the table to the tune of $650 per year for the average consumer. That’s where we come in.
