Below is the MS/DIM Program’s online Policies and Procedures Manual. As a member of the MS/DIM Program, all enrolled students are expected to abide by these policies.
Missed Class Policy & Procedures for Notification
Students are expected to attend all the scheduled Learnathons and Meetups. The MS DIM is a highly collaborative and accelerated program and missing even one session may negatively impact the student’s ability to complete course work. Missing sessions may have an impact on the participation grade. We do understand that due to emergencies or other unavoidable circumstances that occur, students will need to miss a session. However, unless the absence is formally excused, the student will still lose a portion of their participation grade.
Notification of Absence:
Notification of class absence should be submitted to the program director prior to the start of the class. The program director will keep track of and approve all absences, as well as inform the relevant instructor. Based on the discretion of the program director, students who miss a significant number of sessions may be asked to withdraw from the program.
Recording of Class Meetings:
All Learnathons will automatically be recorded and made available upon request to currently enrolled students (only). Meetups will not be recorded as they are informal and discussion oriented. Please direct your class recording requests to the Program Director who will then provide the WebEx link.
Joining Class:
Our expectation is that students will join class at the designated time, over a traditional computer with a broadband connection. Joining via mobile devices (iPad, Phone, etc) hinders the ability to engage in class, as some of the commonly used functionality (i.e. breakout rooms) is not available from a mobile device.
