Usability Test- Oasis Senior Advisors

August 7, 2019 By Crystal Pizarro Leave a Comment

Problem
Currently, we have high traffic coming to the site, but we don’t have enough traffic going to our ‘Contact Us’ page. We need more leads and increasing the traffic to our ‘Contact Us’ page will allow for more leads to come in. As the Digital Marketing Manager, my job is to generate leads and to build the online presence. After conducting a usability test for our final project and for class, I thought it would be a good idea to conduct one for my job. The usability test will allow me to see where the problem is and present it to corporate as a possibility to change. Our demographic are adult children, ages 30-55 who are seeking assistance in senior living.

What are your impressions of the site?
Very clean and simple. I love the color scheme and how the brand is apparent throughout the site. The services you provide are clearly stated and I know what to expect from Oasis Senior Advisors.

Are you someone or know of someone who is in need of senior living?
Yes, my grandma has dementia and I need help finding a place that will take her with her illness. I don’t have time to research the different options and I need help.

Try to find out more information. What topics are you most interested in?
I love your blog! It has a lot of good information that I didn’t know about. I now know important tips about medicare and how to care for my grandma on a daily basis.

After navigating through the site, would you like to find out more information?
Of course, I think the company provides exactly what I need and it’s free! Why not.

Is the ‘Contact Us’ page easy to find? Are you hesitant to fill out the contact page? Why or why not?
Yes. I am, I’m afraid that I will be bombarded with emails and spam. I rather just call the number.

ConclusionAfter the usability test, the problem is that people don’t trust us digitally. The user is afraid that they will become part of our email chain. We only send emails about 1-2 times a month and the content is mainly blog posts and local information to New Jersey residents, but the user doesn’t know that. We need to create a disclaimer or have the option for the user to either opt-in or opt-out of email updates and newsletters.
