Meeting new people and learning all about them
As a recruiter, I speak to hundreds of people in a given week. I truly enjoy learning all about people, where they are from, and what they enjoy in life. It is the part of my current career, that I appreciate the most. Here are some pictures from recent networking event I attended:
Building things from scratch
I am the oldest of four children. Since the age of 14, I worked as a manual laborer for my father during summers. It gave me a greater appreciation for creating things, and watching them transform as the reach completion. In high school I took graphics arts/computer science courses, and learned how to create content in Photoshop and Adobe Premier.
Here are a few videos that I have created:
This is a video I created for a friend of mine that has a special needs child. Her daughter could not move her appendages until she underwent music therapy. She responded immediately to Taylor Swift. My friend wanted to create a viral video that would get Taylor Swift to visit Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. I created the #Taylor2CHOP, which was liked and shared over 80 times on Facebook.

Jim Garrett, was a personal friend of my families. He is one of the most motivating people I have ever met. He helped me make many life decisions. When he passed away earlier this year, I created this video in memorandum. It had over 5000 views on LinkedIn as my Quote of the Day.

I am a huge Virginia Tech football fan. I put this video together just for some fun, a few years ago. It has 1,400 views on YouTube.

Making processes more efficient
In my everyday life, I find myself trying to make everything I do more efficient. I like to take a look at the systems that I work within, and try to make them more efficient. Check out the online profile sheet I developed for my former company: Online Profile Worksheet. By implementing this online profile worksheet, I was able to disseminate a phone interview and keep better records on all of candidates.
The New York Football Giants
My family has season tickets to the Giants for over 60 years. My grandfather was a paper salesman in New York City. One of his coworkers and best friends in the 70’s was the Alex Webster, a former player, and head coach of the Giants at that time. So needless, to say I became a Giants fan since birth! After graduating in 2007, I interned for the Marketing Department of the Giants for 2 seasons. The first season, was when the defeated the undefeated New England Patriots!
Virginia Tech Hokie Football
When I made my decision to go to Virginia Tech, I discussed it with Coach Garrett. He told me he knew the head equipment manager at Virginia Tech, who happened to be his Equipment Manager when he was the head coach of the Houston Texans WFL team. I used this network connection to leverage a Student Equipment Manager. During my tenure, I attended the Sugar Bowl, Gator Bowl, and Chik-Fil-A Bowl.
I also help run the football watch parties for the Philadelphia Alumni. I help raise money for a scholarship that goes to a local Philadelphia Student that will attend Virginia Tech. I love giving back to the school that I love!
