Project Overview
There is a huge market for ridesharing, it’s currently a $51.3 billion industry, but despite this, it remains plagued with safety concerns.
Additionally, caregivers are losing money. People taking time off from work to care for their loved ones will obviously result in lost wages and diminished productivity. 4.2 million Americans provide unpaid care to an older adult, 60% of whom report having to make a workplace accommodation as a result of caregiving. And in the last ten years, the population of people over the age of 65 has grown by more than 12 million. We predict this trend will continue. With this many people making accommodations to care for the ones they love, we want to give them the flexibility, security and control that they can’t find anywhere else.
We also realized that medical professionals are now making sure patients aren’t using the normal ride-share apps to provide transportation to and from appointments – asking/making patients sign forms agreeing to have someone they know provide transportation.a lot of medical offices require patients to provide themselves with transportation other than Lyft or Uber.
The opportunity to create a safer ridesharing solution is there. And that’s how CareCar was born. Our mission is simple, to be the world’s safest ridesharing company. What makes us different? We build safety and security right into the ride by allowing users to view GPS tracking and/or live video of the ride in order to ensure the safety of their loved one. CareCar drivers also come with clean background checks and specialized training in things like first aid and CPR.
