First Session: Advisor Meeting 9/10 Melissa’s Notes
Good, viable concept says Debbie. Good brand profile. Debbie suggests that we need to revise and refine our distinct offering. Initially, focus on Urgent, Preventive, and Telemedicine. Build roadmap onto where we go next after phase one.
Better to target More then Raleigh, NC to test. And better define what a consumer is getting by signing into MobiVet.
Initially, Raleigh, NC and then scale to other cities to test. Speak to why we choose the initial area, what is the benefit. Where to next? Having more than 1 city will be better for testing.
How do we plan to market the app? Need to get the right people to the app. As a consumer, what would get you to come to the app?
Mission: Good but needs to be more clear. In-home and urgent care into people’s home that can’t get or don’t want to go to the vet. Needs to speak more to millennials.
Residence can treat?
Telemedicine, Urgent, Preventive- keep focus on these 3 core areas. Move things like scheduling, ordering products, etc… to road map.
Competitive Analysis: imagery of App, display that others and how our is different. Must continue checking throughout the project to make sure that no new competitors have entered the space. Even if they only include 1 or 2 of our feature, they are still a competitor. Once we launch, it could be easy for others to steal our idea, so it’s good to know in advance what others are doing.
Tagline: Mobile, speaking to what we do, “We get you the help we need.”
Overview will align with more 3 new, refined areas of focus. We get you the help you need, where/when you need it.
Questionnaire on what type of care you provide. What type of needs would you satisfy? Questionnaire when the app is opened will help the pet owner determine what kind of service they need and determine who they need (vet, vet tech, etc…) to provide the service.
-Role defines care giving
Millennials will be sold on convenience.
What is a normally vet visit? And what percentage will you take from that?
How will we monetize that app and how will manage the costs for convenience and emergency services.
Pilot 25-50 services, negotiate with vets. Make a flat fee across the board to to prevent competition between vets.
Differentiated fees based on type of service or who is providing the service.
Best way to start is to have vets use their own vehicles.
To get this off the ground, fees absorbed by Vet to provide services. Mobile App needs to fit funds and resources for what we are trying to accomplish on a short time period. Nowhere near Uber fund level or tech sophistication. Expenses put on Vet and they are able to have another income stream and we can make money off them.
Debbie Summary of App;
“Based on where my Pet is, I can sign into the App and pick one of three services and given options of service providers within my area.”
Initially, App and Tablet use (Mobile) Android and IOS. Challenges: you need functionally across all. Minimal Website. 15, 000 into QA. And 25,000 Marketing/SEO.
AB Testing (No UX): Which we should implement down the line. Nix User Testing.
Testing needs to happen pre-launch, not post launch. Need to set aside funds to make changes based on pre-launch testing. Increase app design by at least 25K, decrease amount allocated to user testing.
Innovation is not about a problem, but also gives innovation. “Innovation isn’t always about solving a problem, it’s about finding a new way”
Building an App that is based on serving Generation Y and Baby Boomers. Simple visuals, for Iconography: sub-logo into each separate service.
UI design needs to translates to the language to the user| Mind Map as to what things should be named.
Preventive = Wellness
Wireframe, flow-smaller to larger screen. Suggestions: InVision, clickable Prototype.
Why are we doing Beta group? If you have a decent strategy and use App development based practice. Put money aside to make changes if you plan to go through that route.
Have Vets and Pet Owners, medium level focus group and show wireframes and they money will come out of ap budget.
Brand partnership is in the future, phase 3, year roll out. We can road map things moving forward. Remove this from initial plan.
How will be get Vets to sign-up and customers to sign-up. Two separate paths, we need to validate vets. <-In Wireframe This needs to be included in the app build.
Documentation Storage: Integration with a potential app to store documentation.
Where will the app reside and be hosted?
Data Storage of App-Data Storage somewhere else, that does not incur larger fees.
Kiersten Shank-Main Point of Contact with Debbie
Do not include ratings/reviews option- requires moderation services
Need to more clearly define what we are trying to accomplish in each of the 3 core areas.
