A value proposition is so important to any industry. According to Investopedia, a value proposition provides a declaration of intent or a statement that introduces a company’s brand to consumers by telling them what the company stands for, how it operates, and why it deserves its business. Many companies focus on their value proposition that should align with their consumers’ needs; in reality, they should. Focusing on your consumer base and how to satisfy them is arguably the most important thing to a business, but what if we decided to consider other actions to improve on our value proposition? To add to what we learned in class, I believe companies should figure out how to improve the value of their products and services in relation to their value proposition. With so much innovation now with the advancement of technology, offering just any ordinary product is not good enough anymore to meet a consumer’s expectations. You have to show that there is value to this specific product and the company is willing to improve on that product and show off the various benefits and extended features that come with it.
Also, another factor to improve or decide your value proposition is analyzing what your competitors are doing in the market. Start with reviewing the market approach of your competitors and initiate directives that would help you perform better. A business should be actively following changing market dynamics, trends, and customer preferences to help with establishing a value proposition. However, do not go out and try to copy what is working for a company; be unique. Overcoming obstacles is just one of the phases to get through. Establishing a data-driven and customer-centric approach to predict the next big move in the market will also help.
Today, a value proposition is everything. A value proposition has the power to not only deliver the most to customers but also has the power to drive business growth. Business decision-makers view a value proposition as an opportunity to sell a product or service as a solution to a problem

Great post, Brandyn, and very timely following yesterday’s meetup with Ajinkya Jogelkar! A strong value proposition goes hand in hand with identifying a solution to the customers problem, both centered around this concept of customer centricity. While a unique value proposition is incredibly important, I think one other point of consideration is the importance of authenticity. More often than not, I see companies misconstrue a compelling value proposition and, instead, craft a generic tagline. How does this differentiate YOU and your product?
Nice read!
