For Innovate Now posts we were responsible for finding additional articles related to the topic of discussion during the class lectures that provide a business use case for the topic – finding an article that shows how industry is putting that topic into action.
We discussed brand activation (any campaign, event, or experience), and how it enables brands to engage directly with consumers. Part of the brand activation plan is to breakdown the audience into segments and define the target audience. During our Sunday meet-up with Nima Gohil of L’Oréal USA, she mentioned that L’Oréal’s ambition is to reach one billion (correct me if this number is wrong) consumers across the world, by tracking mobile and in-store sales ( if person is already detected and logged in system, will not be counted twice). From Data to Decisions
With the emergence of big data, companies are looking to become more data-driven. Many companies have taken on data collection strategies to manage the volume of available and unstructured data, with hopes of getting insight from it. Companies just want to understand and make sense of the data collected, or valuable data will go unused. Once they overcome this obstacle, data turns into information, and then decisions. Protect your brand. Heard it before? I hear celebrities say it all the time. We are brands too, right? We have a reputation to uphold. We not only represent ourselves, but our families, our careers, etc. To protect your brand, you won’t post anything(content) to your social media news feed that you think could jeopardize your character, personal and professional life? You also don’t want to be associated with something (or someone) negative, that could possibly ruin this brand you are trying to build?
