Even as a person working in the healthcare industry I find going to the doctor to be the most annoying process. You call to make an appointment and the physician most likely cannot see you for another week or 2. Then on appointment day you have to sit in the waiting area for at the least 1+ hours only to see your actual physician for a total of 10 minutes.
It is a serious pain point in the industry and the reason so many of us put off going to the doctors. But what if this process could be improved by eliminating the doctor completely – and replace them with robots?
Apparently we are getting closer to this reality.
So in the future we could just plug our systems and test results into our phones and get a diagnosis without needing to wait to make an appointment, for a doctor to see us, then for them to review our results. With AI technology accuracy of those results could be better as well. Algorithms can already diagnose diseases from imaging scans better than human radiologists. Computers possibly could take over the entire radiology specialty. Also, human doctors can’t remember every possible disease, treatment or medical article. But AI doctors can.
So what you do think of this process “improvement”? Would you been “seen” by an AI physician?
