I’ve been working at Arcadia University, a private liberal arts university, outside of Philadelphia for over 15 years. What started as a job after finishing my BBA in Marketing has turned into a lifelong passion. Being a part of a student’s journey into higher education is quite fulfilling. My works allows me to take all of the things I love about marketing- brand awareness, market research, sales, advertising, etc… and combine it with my love of counseling and mentoring. I am often asked to describe a typical day in my position and one of the most interesting things about my job is that there is no typical day. The nature of the work that we do is very cyclical, which means the tasks that we work on in September are very different than January, which is very different from May. When I first started in the field, the work I did was much more one-on-one with students and parents. It also involved a lot more time on the road, recruiting students at college fairs and high school visits. Over time, my role has changed and much more of my focus is on big picture strategies and procedures. As I’ve grown in my position, more of the work that I do has taken me back to my roots in marketing.
