Over Labor Day weekend I did not receive as many sales or offers as I had imagined on social media. Were brands just not taking advantage of the extra time consumers were spending on their social media with the holiday or was I not a target audience? I find the latter very hard to believe.
However, there were three pieces of content that caught my eye and I spent time on their social media pages and their websites. The first was Social Media Today. I regularly find their content intriguing and also helpful. I usually engage with their content on Linkedin and Twitter. This post was found on Linkedin, where I immediately clicked through and read the article, came back to Linkedin and liked the post and shared it with my following. As the social media director at our agency, it’s important for me to stay on top of trends, tips and tricks for all things social media. I must also share content such as this to stay relevant and be seen as a thought leader in our industry. Social Media Today provides content such as this numerous times a day, adding value and credibility to their brand.
The second piece of social media content I engaged with this Labor Day weekend was from Bissell on Instagram. I have been targeted with this ad too many times to count. I have stopped and scrolled their carousel of images and read their copy numerous times. Since I had a little extra time over the weekend, I clicked “Shop Now” and read about this vacuum. I have decided I would like to purchase it. I put a little more effort into looking at some online reviews and comparative research. I will not share this content, as I prefer not to announce to my Instagram following that I have a cat hair problem! However, after purchase, I will be happy to write a review.
The last piece of social content I’ll highlight comes from @hungrygirl on Instagram. I have been dedicating a lot of time to my kitchen in the past month or two. I’ve been trying to eat healthier and meal prepping has been a big part of my journey. I found this post to be very helpful and informative. I know it’s easy to google how long to store foods, but I found this bite-size piece of content to be easy to digest and understand. I didn’t share the content, but I did screenshot, not only for this post, but also for my album to easy reference. @hungrygirl knows her audience craves content that will help them with their health goals. You go girl!
